About the role
You will lead backend development on CRM, ERP and custom platform projects - owning architecture decisions, reviewing code, and mentoring two or three junior engineers. This is a hands-on role; you will write code most days.
You will work directly with clients during technical discussions, so being able to explain a trade-off in plain language matters as much as being able to implement it.
What we are looking for
- Four or more years of production PHP, with at least three on Laravel
- Strong MySQL - schema design, query optimisation, indexing strategy
- REST API design and third-party integration experience
- Queues, caching and background job processing
- Git workflow, code review and automated testing habits
- Able to explain technical decisions clearly to non-technical people
